Making A Production Of It

We had our first big production meeting right before Thanksgiving at the Mars Bar! It was the first time most of the people from the different departments had a chance to meet each other and it became apparent what a great group of people we have working on this film (for those who didn’t already know)!

I took a small break for Thanksgiving weekend, where I tried to limit my film work to just a few items each day. It was hard not to obsess constantly over the film, but having Kirsten around helped! ; ) We even made a little gingerbread house.

We still have plenty to keep us busy before the shoot and I hope we’re able to at least cover the important stuff. We’ll start rolling film in just over a month and we still have to figure out our post production workflow, order the film stock, secure equipment and go on our location scout (we’re hitting the road for that Dec. 2nd), get winter chains for our little Tercel and figure out why it no longer wants to start, and of course figure out what to do with 16 people traveling from Oak Harbor, WA to Kernville, CA!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Things should get much more exciting on this blog in the next two months, I just hope I can keep up!

"Crawling Can Be Beautiful..."

Still working on the shot list. Actually, that's not entirely true, I'm working on incorporating the shot list into the script so that when I'm on set it'll be easier for me to flip from shot list to script and know what I was thinking without having to do too much head scratching. Of course, for all I know, this new method may only induce MORE head scratching... Once I've applied it to the entire script I'll let you all in on it so that you can tell me how great it is...or how much easier it would have been to do it some other way...

Until then, I've updated the links to the right of the page. Now you can readily click around and check out some of the talented people working on this little pic.

I’m a little late posting this, but I wanted to let you all know that one of my shorts is now viewable on-line. The Seattle Channel recently played “Driving Around, Following Strangers,” and the program was archived on their website. You can stream DAFS and all the other shorts in the program HERE. We're episode #12!
